Job Duties
What this role is expected to handle on a normal basis.
- Perform computer diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on desktops, laptops, and related equipment.
- Document all work performed, diagnostic findings, recommendations, and repair outcomes accurately within company systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and secure work environment, including repair benches, tools, inventory, and customer equipment.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and provide professional assistance regarding repair options, timelines, pricing, and service recommendations.
- Handle customer payments, invoices, receipts, and related point-of-sale transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service-related issues professionally while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Schedule and coordinate onsite service appointments, mobile repair visits, pickup and delivery services, and customer follow-ups.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating support requests for residential, commercial, and managed business IT clients.
- Promote theft prevention and loss prevention by actively greeting customers, maintaining awareness of the service area, and reporting suspicious activity.
- Assist with inventory management, parts ordering, equipment tracking, and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Prepare devices for customer pickup, verify repair quality, and ensure completed work meets company standards.
- Support company marketing efforts, customer retention initiatives, and community outreach events when requested.
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuing education to improve technical and customer service skills.
- Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
Minimum expectations before applying. Preferred items help, but reliability and customer communication matter heavily.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous computer repair, IT support, or related technical experience required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair desktop computers, laptops, and related technology equipment.
- Comfortable opening laptops, desktops, and handling sensitive electronic components safely and professionally.
- Ability to follow company procedures, written checklists, and documentation requirements accurately.
- Strong customer service and communication skills required.
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate care when handling customer data and devices.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
- Applicants must be able to pass a background screening. Certain criminal convictions may disqualify applicants based on the nature of the offense and job responsibilities.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, honesty, integrity, and good moral character while representing the company.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or other industry certifications are preferred but not required.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene while representing the company.
- Must be able to comply with company dress code and grooming standards.
- Must present a clean, neat, and professional appearance appropriate for customer-facing work in homes, businesses, and retail environments.
